Magical things can happen when two dog-crazy people swipe right!
We met on the apps in late spring, 2024. We survived a first-date-last-minute-reschedule (Laurel's request), and managed to make it to a third date (three months later) in spite of busy travel schedules on both sides. Not common for app dating!
We bonded over our pups, our shared views and values, an affinity for international experiences, a love of live music, and so much more. In the months that followed, we got to know each other more deeply than we've ever known another human, we fell in love, we moved in together, and we started building a life together.
Cut to August 2025, when Francois successfully pulled off a very clever misdirect! He told Laurel they were driving to Montana to waterski, but had in fact planned a spectacular two-night proposal trip! Laurel definitely did not see it coming at all, wink wink.
He popped the question under the stars in Buford, Wyoming at a secluded cabin - just us, the dogs, champagne and a fire pit – before chauffeuring Laurel through Yellowstone on their way to a glamping site the next day. (We did eventually make it to Montana to waterski).
